I also find Garrett's whole character very appealing. He's an intelligent, cunning man who keeps a cool head in a crises and has a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor. He's also tough, determined, patient, elusive, and aloof. Not to mention very physically fit and quite nimble.

Ahh, well, I know that Lara's got a human voice there somewhere. However, I don't think that the legions of leering fans are admiring her vocal timbre. Now, if Core Design had hired an "Arse Actress" for Lara Croft, my comparison would be much different.
I'm not quite sure HOW it would change my opinion, and actually, that idea is just disturbing.
