The fire elemental in the Gold version of The Haunted Cathedral.
Geez, does that thing ever give me the creeps. I don't think it looks like the way it should in my game: it appears as a completely black humanoid model whose only feature is dull red eyes. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or a skin. It basically looks like a shadow.
The sound effects are chilling and what happens when you kill it...such a weird and unique enemy! I think there was another appearance in the game, but I ony ever found him in that one level.

I didn't know the fire shadow had "dull red eyes." When you say red eyes I immediately think of the wraith skin used on some AIs in The Mystery Man. Those creeped me clean out when I first encountered them.
I'll raise a +1 for the haunts and another for the "dumb guards." Not because the guards were particularly challenging, but their hilarious dialogue made them interesting.
"uh oh, some taffers been in here"
and as an extension of that, specifically Benny of course. :)

I'm also partial to the original Hammerites. Even though they are fanatics, there's something 'charming' (?) about them. I think it's one of the most interesting factions I've encountered in games.
I even went so far as to see if I could have someone make me a hammerite costume at the local renfest in my state!
(I still think it'd be cool to have a hammerite costume. I'd also love to have a Keeper ring, which I know some taffer on these boards has one.)

I believe the Fire Shadow model is borked in my version of TFix. It had no features and was jet black like it was missing textures. I guess the red eyes were also gone. However, the lack of features made it creepier. I'll try to take a screenshot. I may be misremembering though - last I played was October of last year!

what you are describing sounds like the 'wraith' AI. He's all black save for his eyes, which are red.
Otherwise, yeah, it's something wrong with the texture, as it's supposed to look like a humanoid as you saw from Brethren's link.

Yep, that's the "wraith AI" I was talking about earlier. I'm not sure why that texture has replaced the Fire Shadow's texture, unless that was intentional on voodoo's part.
