Thought I'd ask everyone what their favourite thief mission is and why, you can include fan missions too if you wish. There's usually that mission that sticks out in the mind for whatever reason, whether its design, how it played, or how you went about it, or it was just memorable because it was a satisfying experience at the time.
Mine would have to be Assassins from the first game. Way back when I first played that, it just brought the whole thief experience together for me. I loved the trailing part then after that having the rest of the manor to explore. The good old days when games like this had large levels and great design at the same time. The gothic, victorian manors and castles were always great I thought and this one was the best for me.
I have to say that cragscleft comes in at a close second.

Well, I think it's The Haunted Cathedral. There's just a certain atmosphere about the area behind the Barricades that I've always loved. Accordingly, RTC is also a great mission. RTC would come in second on the list I suppose, with the 3rd being Lost City. Abandoned places have a mysterious appeal to me I suppose :D
I'm aware none of these missions is a real 'thieving' mission...
The textures and design in T1 were quite simple when compared to TMA and TDS, and yet THC manages to look wonderful... what matters most is what you do with the resources you have, no mather how limited they may be :p
I found it enjoyable going through an uninhabited (well... sort of ;)) quarter, wondering and then discovering what happened there... walking through dark and silent streets (interrupted by the occasional groan of a zombie) that are seemingly frozen in time, knowing that just over the wall there was a whole different world, a bustling metropolis whose people know next to nothing of this place. :)

I second the Haunte Cathederal...without a doubt an amazing (and adrennalin generating;) ) play

To choose only one mission in the whole Thief series is absolutely impossible.
In T1 the most favourite of mine, as I think, is Assassins - because of the 'exploring' atmosphere - do what you want on the streets, in the manor... just don't be detected. Secondly there go the Cragscleft, Bonehoard, Haunted Cathedral, Lost City, Song of the Caverns (Gold), Undercover, Escape!, Strange Bedfellows and Maw. Thirdly - the rest :)
In T2 I love Precious Cargo. I'll never forget this island, this rain and Cetus Amicus. On the 2nd place there are Interference, Blackmail, Trail of Blood, Life of the Party, Kidnap and Sabotage. On the 3rd - the rest as well.
In T3 I can't choose the favourite mission. I like all the places with loot counted in percents.
