Yeah, Precious cargo is also a mission i think back as to being one of the best - they really made it atmospheric and mystic. Not to mention the nicely done scenery.
But Life of the Party just captures the essense of Thief so well - that most taffers got that as atleast a Top 3 Thief-mission.

i noticed that a few of you have the moira mansion for thief 3. I have to agree that one stood out for me in deadly shadows as well. Good atmosphere mixed with a classic thieving style mission.

In order of awesomeness:
1. The Unwelcome Guest (Life of the Party, if you must)
2. The House of Widow Moira
3. Song of the Caverns.
Those last two don't get enough love from the Thief community :(

At the time of playing it, my favorite was The Sword.
I guess it still is, if you add the authenticity factor of it being an OM.
Ominous Bequest and Rowena's Curse have been about equally my favorite FMs, the one's I want to play again and show other people ... Broken Triad and 7 Sisters I think will end up adding to that list (except that they're on a bigger scale ... and not one mission).

I loved Song of the Caverns as well, but, for me, it was The Mage Towers that edged it out as my favorite. Caverns is certainly top 5.

For me it's The Lost City. I still remember how I used a speed potion and jumped over the lava pit in the beginning and ended up inside the structure that contained one of the talismans, instead of taking the long route through the tunnels. I also very much enjoyed the feeling of visiting a long deserted city, experiencing the now faded glory of it all.
Down in the Bonehoard was another favourite, mostly for its design and the exploration-factor (and of course the thought-provocing Alarus-extension).
The Haunted Cathedral also stands out. I was creeped out every time I heard the rattle of chains, a feeling that have since faded a bit, though.
Cragscleft offers a lot of variation (abandoned mine, caves, factory, prison and finally living quarters and I think swimmable water always adds to a mission), but without losing the focus.
The Bafford mission is among them too, just because it was the first.
The training mission deserves being at least mentioned, not because of the spectacular gameplay or the fantastic story, but because it let us watch the Keeper compound from the inside. I like walking around in there and just fantasize about what's going on behind all those windows. I want to fill that mission with a lot more life one day.

Seconded.
I always liked the atmosphere of the place.
