I'm finding it strange that I'm getting spam at one of the addresses. I have not gotten any spam ever at my other gmail address, so maybe it's just that I used the spammed address somewhere and the address got picked up (which is unlikely but the only thing I can think of).

How do you close an account if you don't need it? (Assuming it is nicer to free up usernames again for other people). The Gmail instructions didn't work, and Google didn't reply to the email pointing this out.

I guess you send such a request to the support@ account from the account in question and I can delete it.
