Please, feel free to call me a noob but there's some things I'd like to know as I've never used gmail before.
1.) Is the username the first part of the entire e-mail adress. Eg. if I want my triop mail to be [email]badexample@trioptimum.com[/email], would my username have to be "badexample" then?
2.) Will the first and last name fields displayed anywhere? What do they matter?
3.) Can I change my first & last name from within the account once I've created it?

1. Yes
2. They will probably be shown in the From field alongside your email add. when you send a mail to someone.
3. Go to Settings>Accounts

Since the inception of this Google-Hosted endeavor we have 129 accounts and 251 addresses and so far there's been only one requester that's managed to piss me off. I'd say that's a success.
