Whoa! How much harddrive space do those saves take up?
I was limited to 2-5 saves per map because of too little space, but in the end I had, say, 250 MB of savegames.
Deus Ex is one harddrive eating game...

I'm about halfway through (Dowd's crypt) and I have about 300 saves. Most of them are quick saves so they overwrite the previous one, thus saving on hard drive space.

My quicksave count was in the hundreds, because a game like Deus Ex, for me, brings out an obsessive perfectionist quality. I just had to execute each encounter perfectly- which usually meant one shot kills. I think this style of play is more fun than the slash-and-burn style, but it does rack up the mileage on the ol' harddrive...

Hmmmmm...I never thought to look at the save count.
I will for sure, I must have made bloody heaps. 1615 sounds like a lot though.

I like the sound of that, but I'm staying away from the game for a while to catch my breath.
Save games...I remember when I first set foot on Liberty Island....totally new to the game...I snuck around and stayed as quite as a mouse....dash here, rush there, tippytoe this way....scurry, crawl, hide.
I really took my time....trying to get the feel of it.
I got all the way up to the base of the statue and didn't see this fricken LAM stuck to a wall and
Kablam....back to the jetty to start all over.
Grrrrr...I started to quick save a lot after that.
Other parts, like the catacombs...I kept getting lost, save games were vital.
The naval yard was another where I thought save game was crucial.
aaaaahhhhh....I knew I shouldn't have started talking about DX....now I'll have to start a new game.
