Regarding the YouTube link in the initial post, hey, you gotta start somewhere. At least there's people actually making videos based on the Thief series rather than moving on to the other gazillion first-person game series that sold plenty more copies. Technology for it is everywhere now, and relatively affordable (in comparison to a decade ago when Thief first came out), so it's not like only a small section of us have the ability to create our own mini-films.
Perhaps they shouldn't have released that video, unless it was, in fact, supposed to be a joke.

I am in the process of making a serious short film on Thief. It will be more of a visual short to show that it can be done, seriously and well. The idea is to show it can be done-to get others involved to maybe do something larger.

i see u are thinking about making a movie, the story is great and i always said "this has to become a movie". that is one of the reasons i made THIEF TRILOGY a complete movie that has all the cutseans and Breefings for the missing parts of the story and trailers of my own. Ill be posting about it soon
and i think if you will shoot a movie, Thief Trilogy can serve as a source for the complete story of the thief series and a history for Garrett's life
