Stumbled across (
http://aceteam.cl/zenoclash/) this on Voodoo Extreme. Who knows how it will pan out but I'm sold on the art direction alone, check out the movie under media.
Cetainly looks like some interesting use of the Source engine to say the least. That's one bad ass right hook.

Doesn't look all that interesting to me.

I'll bet you are real fun at parties.
Fair enough, in all honesty I'm a sucker for the surreal.

Yeah, in an industry that can be pretty stagnant re: art direction at times I'm willing to give points for just being weird. It looks like it could be pretty cool, if only because it's an extremely different fantasy world that seems to be drawn from themes other than the traditional western euro/american ones. Plus if they can do first person melee well, I'm sold.

I appreciate the surreal, usually along with the dark and violent. This is a little too odd for me though. Reminds me of the Oddworld games and similarly bizarre-for-its-own-sake games.

I love the Oddworld games, but I can understand your point. This reminds me of Dark Crystal meets Planescape, which is pretty much right up my alley.

Dark Crystal meets Planescape
This is pretty much what I thought when I saw it, only it seems to be lacking the Planescape "darkness" in favor of a more neutrally-gritty atmosphere.

The visual style is interesting, but I'm not sure it's appropriate for an in-your-face brawler. That seems the kind of style you want for a game with lots of expansive vistas, so you can take in the surreal beauty.
I was also a little unimpressed with how they treated the voice of the Father-Mother. If it was a little more like Satan from that claymation Mark Twain movie, that could be good. As it is, the two voices are too distinct.

I just watched that off netflicks a couple days ago. Beats any of the CG flicks of late hands down IMO. That masquerade ball mask was brilliant.
Hopefully it will go a darker route than the trailer suggests, time will tell. Either way, seeing the trailer gave me the same feeling I got the first time I saw Outcast, which was all too long ago.

The trailer isn't very good, nor is the title. The design is kind of bizarre cool though, I got a 'Henson's dark side' vibe off it as well. Is it a French mob doing this?
Hmm, I just read that it's made by some Chilean folks, some of whom made The Dark Conjunction. That was a sort of Lovecraft-ian Half-Life single player mod for Quake 3, which was a bit clunky and released unfinished but was pretty interesting in concept
