Zeno Clash will retail on Steam for the low price of $20 USD. A very wise decision IMO. The budget price point will likely win over a lot of people sitting on the fence.
Too bad that will probably scale to 20 euro thanks to Steam's recent shit-tastic European pricing.

ACE TEAM ANNOUNCES A BARGAIN PRICE-$20 USD- FOR ZENO CLASH
Recently Named A Finalist For Excellence in Visual Art By The Independent Games Festival, Zeno Clash Will Be Available This Spring for Only $20
Santiago, Chile, January 22, 2009 -
ACE Team, an independent video game developer based in Santiago, Chile, today announced that it will distribute Zeno Clash via Steam, Valve's digital distribution system and Direct2Drive, IGN's digital distribution marketplace
in Spring 2009, for a value price of $20.00 USD. ACE Team has intentionally priced the game at only $20 in order to help give as many players as
possible access to its debut title. Zeno Clash is a PC-based
action/fighting game set in a punk fantasy world. The game is coming to Steam and Direct2Drivethis Spring and the developer is also in the process of identifying a retail publisher.
"It's very important for us at ACE Team that Zeno Clash reaches a broad amount of consumers", said Andres Bordeu, Co-Founder of ACE Team. "We want everyone to be able to play our title and setting a low price for the high production value that the game packs seems like the best way to share our bizarre and intriguing world. I think people will be especially happy with the price during these hard times".

yeah, steam's prices suck balls but then again looking at the numbers there ARE players willing to shelf out those ridiculous prices so who is steam to argue with the stupidity of CUSTOMERS.
Still, 20 euros for a new game is a good price I'm gonna pay without much thinking. of course 15 euros (the proper price converted to euros) would be even nicer and show that steam isn't trying to rip their customers off in a myriad of ways (using additional copy protection ADD. to their own and not really informing you of it or the fact that some titles are not available in europe).
in a good world steam would only offer the following:
- same release date for both US and rest of world
- same copy protection in all the games offered on the platform
- proper rate conversion (pro-tip: (
www.xe.net/ucc))
- PROPER PRICES THAT REFLECT THE MARKET VALUE OF A GAME
(so there won't be any more
up to 30euro (!!!!) differences in price between steam/retail in some places)
until then I concentrate on steam sales (that are still expensive but at least a little more competetive) and just gettin' valve games on steam.

I am sorry, but I really want to try this game. If for nothing else than to sate my curiosity. Looks very cool, and somehow reminds me abit of Outcast, Bioshock, and Stranger's Wrath. W/the graphics from (

$10 for today? Not bad at all. But the problem is, none of the previews I've read have led me to the opinion that I should buy it; or, for that matter, that I
shouldn't.
And now that The Path is available on Steam at the same price point, I've got to make a decision: melancholy insane fairy-tale pseudo-game, or brightly coloured ultra-bizarro brawler-game?
Damn it. Maybe I should just wait for a review or something. :erg:

Actually hearing a third-party opinion about something before buying it?
You are the cancer that is destroying videogame industry!

Ooooh, ooooh, me too!
The trick is to find a negative review that you feel doesn't destroy your enthusiasm, and a positive one which speaks to you personally.
So in the end, I get to play good games AND destroy the industry at the same time? Espionage is pretty fun. You should try it.

That's the point. There are no reviews. The fucking game is not even out yet.
Actually buying a game based solely on a review is risky to say the least, but pre-purchasing is downright stupid thing to do.
