Dear all,
After several years of tucking Thief I & II away, I re-emerged one day to play them once again, but to my horror I could not find them anywhere in my house! In desperation, I found some copies on eBay for a good price (as any taffer worth his/her salt would do) and at last, I have beloved aforesaid games in my hands. Thief III is on its way as well.
The subject of my letter however, is that I cannot engage in my tafferly duties for one simple reason: those filthy undead!
Now, I am not a squeamish person by nature; in fact I pride myself on being as thiefly as master Garrett himself, but there is one thing that completely embarasses me and puts my missions on hold. The sight of a maggot-infested, fly-enshrouded corpse that walks and talks! With one fair swipe, it kills! Oh, for shame! How will yours truly answer to Cutty's poor departed soul?
My dear fellow taffers, I plead for your advice in helping me with my paranoia. I cannot continue with Cutty's desire for me to find Felix's map, for I have heard rumors that my mission forewith will take me across paths of the many undead.
Yours,
Little Taffer

Read your EIDOS thread (as I recall, it is word for word the same).

The first time I played the Cragscleft I went running and screaming all the way to the prison. The second time around, though, I realized that all you have to do to zombies is give 'em a good knock on the head with the sword and they go out. This makes them way too easy and not difficult at all.

Not to mention they're slow so you can outrun them even when they're agitated. When I'm not ghosting, I usually end up luring them to an area where they can't continue then take swipes at them until they're down. In cragscleft, I do it at the top of the elevator and stand on the elevator.

The zombies back then didn't scare me half as much as the atmospherical unknowns taking place around it.

To Little Taffer: Luckily you're not facing any zombies to reach Felix's map, 'cause
it is inside the prison, in a hidden area
.

or you could turn the brightness way up, so that isn't that creepy anymore

All you have to keep in mind is - "Zombies are slow as molasses, and twice as stupid." You're better off just running past them.

Imagine if zombies could run and fight! That'd be scary...
