Imagine if zombies could run and fight! That'd be scary...
Then they'd just be Haunts, only uglier.

I especially loved the moisty slush-like sound when throwing a zombie head around. Mushrooms like the moisture of an undead corpse, by the way. As well as maggots, earth worms, millepedes, roaches or bugs.

Does an undead corpse provide the necessary nutrients required by a mushroom?

Sentimental Slime, perhaps. :p

Of course, an undead corpse is even better than soil. Ask a mushroom. The most favorite place of the fungi are definitely the armpits of the zombie, though. There, the moisture and the amount of rotten flesh - which in the most cases does not differ much from soil - provide an excellent place to grow.

Scared of the zombies??? It's the spiders I hate! *shudder* I hate that maraca-y sound they make; then when they run for you! *shudder* And the funny little clickey noise their legs make when they walk, what's that about? I often wondered if there was a way to hack the sound files so when the spider's were about they'd say "Watch out spider about" and each leg had a different word assigned to it, like "I" "Love" "You" "Give" "Me" "A" "Hug" "Please".....

yeah, that's eight....
Actually I seem to remember a mod with a huuuuuuuuge spider in it, and I mean huuuuuuuuge, it must have been three or four time bigger than garrett!

You're not alone, Little T.! I ABHORE the undead. In fact, I've gone to great lengths not to play FMs with zombies (OR Hammer Haunts) in them. Which isn't really fair to the authors of said FMs, I know, and I offer my most sincere apologies to them. But I absolutely cannot abide those awful, moaning creatures. I'm usually quite adept with the sword, but for some reason can't seem to kill an undead properly or quickly enough. Hammer Haunts are even worse for me. I, who usually fear nothing ('cept zombies), feel my blood run cold when I hear those chains rattling and those sinister whispers echoing. I used to be ashamed of myself until I found that several FM authors themselves hated the undead & preferred playing & creating FMs without those rotting corpses in them (my eternal thanks/love to you guys/gals), so now I don't feel so bad. Every now & then I'll read how some taffer's come up with a better/easier/quicker way to kill the undead & I'll give it a try myself. Those efforts have always ended badly for me. :(
I'll stick to FMs that don't include those nasties, thank you, and hold my head high (except when I'm in the process of lurking).
P.S. The spiders don't bother me. In fact; I get a feeling of satisfaction every time I shoot an arrow into their butts & watch them flip over dead. :ebil:

The Undead creep me out, too. I enjoyed Cragscleft, where the mines were haunted but the prison was genuine relief from that. I didn't like the levels with no humans on them at all. Hammer Haunts scare me rigid, and it took me years to get through Return to the Cathedral.
I'm working my way through Deadly Shadows now. I say working, more pratting about, because I'm too rubbish to even get St. Edgar's robbed (I'm on Day 01 and have been since the game was released).
I've heard nothing but bad things about the Cradle. I don't want to go there. I might not. It'll probably make me cry.

You and I are on the same boat. Zombies, Haunts, Apperitions, constant Thief 3 Pagan speak, I can take it all. But toss some spiders into the mix and I lose my nerve.
I think mod you're talking about is Thievery UT. In one of the levels there's a bunch of smaller spiders throughout, but locked up in a cell is a GIANT spider. I'd told BrokenArts I hated spiders, but would she bother to tell me there was a spider the size of my house in that room? Nooooooooo.
