Hmm, those undead guys are a bit more fleshy than before. But, in honour to the Thief Universe, I must admit that those haunts have better dental care than most countries in Europe.

Did you guys know that CAPCOM actually had/have a phone service designed for the traumatised persons, because of Resident Evil games.

Did you know that in T3E, you can script a zombie to eats its victim's bodies! It looks... kinda... creepy...

I absolutely believe that! I had nightmares after the first time I played that game (the movies were better IMO). At least we have TTLG forums where we can find support, consolation, & sympathy! I was playing Calendra's Legacy (GREAT FM!!) last weekend & completed all the objectives except for the last one which involves going down into the crypts. AAARRRRGGHHHH!!! I JUST CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO GO DOWN THERE BECAUSE I KNOW THERE ARE ZOMBIES DOWN THERE!! I want to finish this FM, but have totally turned chicken-shit. :( I am so ashamed. The problem is, when I get home from work it's already starting to get dark out; I can't play Thief with the lights on because then I can't see a blessed thing. My cats won't even sit in my lap when I play an FM involving zombies anymore (which used to bring me some small amount of comfort) due to the fact that I kept jumping every time a ran into one of those hideous creatures from the grave. My husband just laughs at me now (he found out the hard way that when I'm suddenly startled I have a tendency to lash out) from a safe distance. My dogs make matters worse because when I jump with fright, they start barking their fool heads off & then I'm convinced that the evil undead have surrounded my house & are just waiting for a chance to break in & assimilate me into their minions. Or eat me alive.
Plus; I think I've run low on water arrows, so I'm doomed. Oh well; wish me luck fellow taffers. Tonight I will be brave and confront my worst fears (no, not bad hair). I am determined to vanquish these slimy, rotting foes.
If you don't hear from me again, send in the Marines, please. (Too bad Ripley, Hudson, Hicks, & Vasquez aren't around anymore! Damn!)

DAMN YOU ALL! Damn you and your feelers! It's because of this thread that I had an extensive nightmare about zombies this morning! And I didn't have my shotgun because... actually, I don't have a clue. It just disappeared.
Would've rather had some fire arrows anyway. BOOM!
And for the record, Hicks was the best. He kicked serious ass. Long live Michael Biehn!

WARNING: TOT
Oh Yeah!! I HATED the fact that they killed him off (& Newt, as well) in #3. (That was my least favorite of all four movies.) I kept hoping they'd do one more involving Ripley, Call, Vriess, & Johner on old Earth; I figured
some of the aliens had to survive & land there. Alas; it was not meant to be.
Strange; Ripley's aliens creep me out something fierce, but Thief's zombies scare the livin' daylights out of me. Go figure!

Dia,
If you use the shadows, and keep an eye on the Z's you can avoid them, even the Jumping Skull can be avoided with a attentive eye and a awareness of shadows.
In fact, you can walk right behind a Zombie and be undiscovered. If you are quiet and alert.

Thanks, Blackman. I never thought of walking behind an undead - kinda creeps me out! I mean - they'd be so close! I'll give it a try if I can when I try to finish Calendra's Legacy tonight. I can beat this fear!
It seems whenever I'm hiding from them I'll start believing that they see me (they seem to get more excited, if that's possible), so I end up jumping out of the shadows & either running away or trying to fight them with my sword (for some odd reason I'm usually out of water arrows by then, which renders the holy water pretty much useless). I even tried lopping off their arms first & then their heads (discovered they can still bite you while being armless & cause some damage), but the ones I fought always seemed a lot quicker than everybody else has said they were. T2X was my Waterloo. I did finish it, though. Barely.
So, tonight, if some unidentified caller rings you on your cell and when you answer all you hear is sobbing and gibberish, you'll know it's me.
Thanks for the helpful hints, though.
P.S. Exactly what does a flashbomb do to the zombies? Never tried that (was always out of those, too, by the time I encountered the undead).

You think sneaking around behind a zombie is bad? Try sneaking up behind a spider to try and blackjack it... when you're petrified of spiders (all because of Thief too, before I played the Thief games I never was). Why did I try to blackjack it? I figured if I could get that close and do so, I could come one step closer to conquering my fears.
Unfortunatly, it didn't work, and the spider just got pissed off. Needless to say I didn't conquer my fears.
As for your flashbomb question, flashbombs do pretty good damage to the undead (doesn't matter which time, zombies, haunts, apparations, puppets). It's always nice to keep a few handy.
Dia on 21/2/2006 at 19:42
OMG TS!!! WHAT IN HELL WERE YOU THINKING??!! There's no way you can sneak up on a spider; they see you no matter what! You silly kid! Arrows from at least 50 paces do the trick. Yep; right in their butts!
Thanks for the tip re: flash bombs. I think I've got one left; hopefully I won't run into that many zombies tonight (never got this far when I tried playing Calendra's Legacy before).
