Last time I played Calendra's Legacy I made the mistake of killing every undead I came across.
I ran out of supplies pretty quickly :(.
And I've heard it actually is possible to blackjack the spiders. Not sure if it works on all kinds though. Typically though I kill them from a good long distance. Line up my sights and launch about a good 20 broadhead arrows. That may be 27 too many, but that way when I walk by I don't have to see it's creepy corpse. Just a crapload of arrows sticking out of the ground :p

For most beasties and AI including robots:
Watch them do a complete circuit of thier patrol. Watch WHICH WAY THEY TURN at the end to return. If they consistantly turn LEFT, then skulk along behind them slightly to the right. When they get to the end and turn move away to the right. If you get past before they are completely turned, you will be behind them and can continue down the hall, or through the door or whatever.
AI, Robots, Haunts, Zombies et-al, you can do this to any of them if you are very very quiet and careful.
There are minor exceptions as in T2X where the gaseous vapors that linger on some of the AI will get you if you get too close to the area of dispersion. But other than that you can follow a guard, warbot, zombie completely across a room or open area if you are alert.
In TMA "Courier" you can literally be on the heels of the AI and just crouch and move to the opposite side of thier turn.

Wow. I've never tried that. Now I'll definitely have to give it a shot; except those damned zombies creep me out so much I have the eebie-jeebies for an hour after I've stopped playing. But I really do love a challenge (hey, I've been married twice ya know :cheeky: ) so I know I'll end up trying your method Blackman.
Thanks again.
*gulps, takes a deep breath and tries to look determined*

I'll make a deal with any arachnophobe out there. I'll come over and hold your hand, whistle cheery tunes, utter manly words of reassurance, etc. when you have to face your spiders. I'll ever let you run and hide while I kill 'em if you need. In exchange, you come over and help me with all the undead I know are waiting for me in Thief 3. I'm playing very slowly right now, because I know that sooner or later I'm going to come to the Cr.... the.... the Cra... AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!:eek::eek:
(I think those little spiders on the streets of Thief 3 are kinda cute, actually...)

Actually they are not spiders, but you'll learn that as you go, or should have already depending on how far into TDS you are. :)

I think it would be a nice idea to make a FM consisting of one room, one exit, filled with zombies, and only a sword. That would be a challenge... not to mention a fatal heart attack for Dia and Little Taffer. :ebil: I just might download the editor and try that out...

Funny, I just recalled a moment when I was playing Thief II with a bit too realistic attitude (I know this thread says "Zombie Therapy" but someone said the magic word...). In Life of the Party I got inside that small chappel and took down that priest. Anyone remember that annoying combot you must always look out patrolling nearby. It was making that heavy blonk-blonk-blonk-blonk-noise on the metal-plated floor (can't cause more attention than that!) so I just started to run towards it - in attempt to take a point-blank with water arrows - when it had passed me but then the game engine kicked in and Garrett caused "more noise" than that solid-metal ton-heavy iron-abomination. It took 180 degrees and shot my head off. That taught to remember that Thief is "but a game".

Havvoc: Little T & I would make you take point. :p Hey - we'd cover you from behind - promise! ;)
Motley; I won't deal with your zombies, but I'll hold your hand while you tell me which way we need to run! I'd be more than happy to go on a spider-killing spree with you in any event. This time I'll take point - I'm getting pretty good at killing the little creepy-crawlies . :cheeky:

'k, then somebody needs to create an automatic-zombie-killing-device for those of us who are 'zombie sensitive'. Ya know, just make it available for anyone that really doesn't want to have to deal with the gruesome undead (and the panic attacks, shakes, eebie-jeebies, & sobbing which may result from same).
Thx. in advance.
Sincerely,
Me
