How to kill them?
I've been terrified of them and just avoided them completely. However, now they've been put directly in my way.
Also, are they about as easy to sneak by as humans? I've become pretty good at that.

if you want to kill them then use flash bombs and/or fire arrows and/or holy water.
and yes, you can sneak by them just as you sneak by humans.

An unalert zombie can be killed with one flashbomb from behind

You can even use a oil slick then set the oil on fire.

From behind? I never had a problem at any angle. Or is that affected by difficulty level?

I don't think it is because it happens on the ship too - but using a flashbomb in front of an unalert zombie seems to alert them, so you'd need 2 flashbombs.

At first, I was tossing two flashbombs in quick succession and didn't know for a while that one would do the trick. A habit from the other games. When I saw how different the animation was, and how they disentegrated rather than exploded, I experimented more.

Flasks of Holy Water thrown at them will also do it. Or put a puddle of Holy water where they will walk.
I IRONWOOD, you can throw a vial in front of the ones walking in the crypts and they go bye bye when they walk through the puddle.
A not so silent method is firearrows also. You just need to dodge the pieces that splash all over the place.
Or mines will also work.

Ah yes! Thanks theBlackman. And that reminds me: How long will the HW puddles remain once created?

Hammer priests can bless their brothers to give them ability to destroy zombies with hammers (usually 2/3 blows for zombie). Can Garrett receive the same "dagger upgrade"?
